• How does the noise sensor work?
  The app uses your device's microphone to measure the ambient sound level in real time. No audio is ever recorded, saved, or sent anywhere. You can revoke microphone permission at any time in iOS Settings without affecting the timer features.
• How do I change the quiet period length or noise threshold?
  Open Settings (the menu icon in the top-right corner of the main screen). From there you can adjust the quiet period duration, break duration, and the noise sensitivity threshold.
• Why is the microphone permission needed?
  Without microphone access, the noise-level detection feature is unavailable. The app will still function as a manual timer. Grant permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Timing Lions to re-enable it.
• Does the app use the internet or send any data?
  No. Timing Lions makes no network connections. Your timer preferences are used locally on your device only.
• The app isn't responding or behaves unexpectedly. What should I do?
  Try force-quitting the app and reopening it. If the issue persists, delete and reinstall the app from the App Store. If you still have problems, contact us using the button below.

Troubleshooting

Microphone not detecting sound: Ensure microphone permission is granted (Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Timing Lions). Also check that the device is not muted and that another app is not actively using the microphone.

Timer not starting: Tap the play/start button on the main screen. If it still doesn't respond, force-quit and relaunch the app.

Settings not saving: This is rare, but if settings revert after closing the app, try restarting your device. If it persists, reinstall the app.
